Privacy Who runs it: The Fathom lab door is a public research lab of the Fathom project. Places, courses and makers come from public sources (OpenStreetMap, Wikidata, Brønnøysundregistrene); every person and group in it is synthetic. There is no sign-in and no account. What is collected: What you or your AI send: questions to /ask and the tools, and anything proposed (name, interest, town, source page, note), with an anonymous session id. One log row per request: the time, the page, the answer status and the kind of visitor read from the user agent (for example browser or chatgpt); the user agent itself is not stored. Your network address is held in memory only, to apply rate limits and daily write limits: it is never written to disk or to the log, and it is gone when the door restarts. Why: To answer, to let a steward review proposals, to keep the lab safe from abuse, and to measure how AIs use the door, which is what the lab is for. Who sees it: Proposals and Interested counts are shown publicly on the door, marked as not reviewed. The logs are read only by the lab team. The door is hosted on Fly.io, which may keep its own request logs. Nothing is sold or shared for advertising. How long it is kept: Proposals and logs are kept until the lab is reset; the log is cut when it reaches its size limit. There is no other fixed period yet. Your choices: Put no personal data in a proposal. A pending proposal can be withdrawn by whoever made it: the page they land on after Confirm has a Withdraw button (an AI gets the same link as undoUrl). Otherwise send its id and undo code to the contact below. The owner of a listed place can ask for it to be taken down.
